Does Ben Wallace Figure in Pistons’ Plans?
Even at his advanced age, Ben Wallace might be the second or third best big man in the Detroit Pistons’ rotation next season. The problem, of course, is that Wallace is not currently on the roster and even if he wanted to be, the Pistons don’t have a roster spot available to give him.
Barring something unexpected, whether or not it makes sense for the Pistons to open a spot for Wallace next season appears to be the last remaining question of the offseason.
It’s unclear at this point where both parties stand. There have been allusions all summer that Wallace might like to play one more season. Joe Dumars hinted earlier in the offseason that the team would welcome Wallace back if he wanted to come back.
