Kevin Durant has made it clear that he’s not a Skip Bayless fan, saying back in April “that guy doesn’t know a thing about basketball.”
Bayless was hypercritical of Durant recently for working out with his friend and Team USA teammate LeBron James. Apparently, since Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder lost to James and the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, Bayless thinks the two should be rivals who hate each other.
On Tuesday afternoon, Bayless and Durant got in a little Twitter feud, with Bayless calling Durant out first and suggesting James was using him.
“Wake up, KD: LeBron is keeping his friends close and his enemy closer. You’re letting him OWN you,” Bayless tweeted.
Durant, unhappy with the comment, replied with:
“@RealSkipBayless u brainwashing these people out here, they think since you on espn you know what u talkin bout…please, nobody owns me,” Durant tweeted.
Durant deleted the comment shortly after it appeared on his Twitter account.
Should he have fired back at Bayless, the guy who’s known for upsetting athletes? Bayless has already caused ruckus this summer for suggesting Derek Jeter uses performance enhancing drugs.
Durant and James have been working out together like they did last summer during the lockout when they created “hell week,” an intense training camp-style schedule with James’ trainer, Mike Mancias.
“Just finished a great workout with @KDTrey5. On court work, ran the hill and finished running the football field. #StriveforGreatness,” James recently tweeted.
“I got better today! That’s all that matters!! Move em,” Durant tweeted.
