A big man needs a big name. Dwight Howard is hoping to measure up in Los Angeles.

Howard, whose nickname was Superman, is looking to shed any comparison to Shaquille O’Neal, his arch-nemesis who also had a fascination with the “Man of Steel.”

Howard tried on “Iron Man” but was told that former Laker A.C. Green, the man who held the record for most consecutive games played, had the nickname.

So Los Angeles Times reporter Mark Medina tweets that Howard is looking to his 3.2 million person advocacy board for help.

@DwightHoward said he’s going to ask his Twitter followers for suggestions on what his new nickname should be

The drinking lamp is lit.

If Howard wants to stick with comic book creations we might suggest “The Punisher,” “Elongated Man,” “The Joker,” “Nightcrawler,” “Dr. Doom” or Daredevil.
