All three of the Miami Heat’s superstars played in Sunday’s 105-93 win over the Chicago Bulls, but ti appears that at least some of them will be resting again before the playoffs. According to the Palm Beach Post’s Ethan Skolnick, Dwyane Wade, Udonis Haslem, and Shane Battier will will not travel with the team to Cleveland to face the Cavaliers on Monday. LeBron James and Chris Bosh will make the trip, but it’s unclear whether or not they will play.
All of the Heat’s stars have sat out with minor injuries during the past month as head coach Erik Spoelstra prepares for the postseason. Miami clinched the NBA’s best record on Wednesday, meaning they will have home-court advantage throughout the postseason, including in the Finals should they advance that far.
In the win over the Bulls, Wade scored 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting and added 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. James had 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Bosh added 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
The Heat close out the season by facing the Cavaliers on Monday and hosting the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. It is unclear whether any of their stars will play in either game. The Heat are set to face the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the NBA playoffs, which begin on Saturday.
