Spoelstra dating a former Heat dancer

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra surprised members of the local media by appearing at a fundraiser with his girlfriend, 24-year-old former Heat dancer Nikki Sapp.
Spoelstra, 42, stepping out with Sapp came as a big surprise to Miami newspapers.
The Herald called the Heat coach ” notoriously private” and “boyish,” while the Sun-Sentinel wrote Spoelstra’s big reveal was “so uncharacteristic of him” because he’s “steered clear” of such things in the past.
An 18-year-old Sapp started dancing for the team in 2005, while a 34-year-old Spoelstra was serving as an assistant for Pat Riley. She danced with the squad for three seasons, then left before Spoelstra took over the Heat’s head coaching position in 2008.
Both were associated with the team for the franchise’s first title in 2006.
As if the story wasn’t already worthy of a romantic comedy plot, Sapp now runs an art gallery in Miami, which is the same job held by half of all female characters in Reese Witherspoon or Katherine Heigl movies.
