Former college basketball coaches Bruce Pearl and Seth Greenberg were hired as studio analysts for ESPN, the network announced Monday.

Pearl, who spent last season working for Sirius XM Radio, was head coach of Tennessee from 2005-2011. After leading the team to six straight NCAA Tournament appearances, he was fired by Tennessee in March 2011 for multiple rules violations and admittedly lying to NCAA investigators about contact with recruits.

“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to bring ESPN the same sort of knowledge, passion and intensity that I tried to have as a basketball coach,” Pearl said in a statement.

Greenberg was a guest analyst on ESPN’s networks during the 2012 NCAA Tournament. He coached at Virginia Tech from 2003-12 and was fired in April.

Jalen Rose will become an analyst for College GameDay and other studio programs.
