Brian Zoubek’s basketball career at Duke ended with a national title. His career as the owner of a cream puff store ended with a note on the door.
After opening Dream Puffz in July of last year, Zoubek tells The Chronicle that he is transitioning into the real estate industry. The note he left behind tells the story of a dream deferred.
Alas, we’ve lost yet another aspiring cream puff salesman to the real estate industry. And with over 100,000 sold in just over six months, this was a man who really knew how to sell a cream puff.
But as Zoubek points out, the cream puff and real estate fields are quite similar:
The real estate industry may be more lucrative and less luscious than the baking world, but he said both require many of the same entrepreneurial skills. Having worked on Dream Puffz without investors or partners, Zoubek said he was able to learn all aspects of what it takes to run a business, even if cream puffs were not as scalable as he would have liked.
And just like that, the town of Haddonfield, N.J., is left with a cream puff void yet again.
