Cedric Ceballos in hospital after heart attacks

Former NBA player Cedric Ceballos has been hospitalized after reportedly suffering a series of small heart attacks.

His publicist said Ceballos will soon undergo surgery in Phoenix.

The 42-year-old Ceballos said in a statement that he was thankful for deciding to have his symptoms checked out at a hospital on Sunday.

Ceballos averaged 21.3 points per game over an 11-year career. He is known for winning the 1992 NBA Slam Dunk Contest with a blindfolded jam.
