Federal mediator George Cohen will be in attendance when the NBA owners and its player union get together for Saturday’s latest round of negotiations.

Cohen was present during a lengthy three-day session last month when it appeared that progress was being made on a new collective bargaining agreement.

The latest round of talks are scheduled to take place in New York.

Negotiations between the sides have broken down as the sides have yet to agree on how to split basketball-related income.

Commissioner David Stern has already cancelled games through November, with more possible cancellations looming in the near future.
