Final Decision Expected Today on Kings
After 27 months of twists and turns in the Sacramento Kings saga, resolution may finally come Wednesday at the NBA’s Board of Governors meeting in Dallas.
The league’s owners are expected to vote on the Seattle-based bid to buy the Kings and move them to the Northwest, perhaps ending this tale of two cities that want the same team. A majority vote is needed to approve the sale, and a three-quarters vote would be needed to approve relocation.
The league’s relocation committee recommended on April 29 that the team should stay in Sacramento, and the recommendation remained unchanged after a Monday conference call that included the relocation committee members as well as the finance committee.
