Finals Game 4 gets double-digit rating

Thursday’s Game 4 of the NBA Finals generated a 12.0 overnight rating, which is the second-highest rated Game 4 since 2004, according to Nielsen.
Miami Heat’s 109-93 win vs. the San Antonio Spurs peaked with a 14.1 rating from 11-11:30 p.m. ET. Additionally, the telecast scored strong local market ratings, with a 43.7 San Antonio and a 34.2 in Miami, both of which are the highest ratings of the 2013 NBA Finals in those markets.
The pre-game show averaged a 4.5 overnight rating, up 15 percent from last year’s Game 4 pre-game show (3.9).
The game was broadcast online at ESPN3 and had the largest NBA game audience of the season to date with nearly 14 million total minutes and an average minute audience of 82,500 across computers, smartphones, tablets and Xbox (source: Adobe SiteCatalyst).
