Gasol Officially Re-Signs with Grizzlies
Amid the chaos going on around the NBA, Marc Gasol was certain about two things regarding his position as a restricted free agent.
“There was a lot of interest,” the Grizzlies’ center said, adding: “I didn’t want a lot of drama.”
Gasol, 26, made official Wednesday his four-year, $57.7 million contract agreement with the Grizzlies.
The 7-footer also made this clear: leaving Memphis this season was never an option.
The Griz had a right to match any offer sheet Gasol might have received from another team. But Gasol said he never intended to sign an offer sheet with another suitor.
