Gordon Returns; Impact Surprises Coach

Shooting guard Eric Gordon made his initial appearance on the floor for the first time this year, and the first time since last April 22, giving the Hornets and Coach Monty Williams some idea of the team’s immediate future.

Gordon’s presence – and his game-high 24 points – helped the Hornets overcome a 21-point deficit, 17 at halftime, a NewOrleans won, 98-95, extending Charlotte’s losing streak to 18 games.

“I didn’t expect that kind of impact right off the bat,” said Williams, “but I certainly thought he could help guys and make guys better. I didn’t know he’d have 24 points and a few assists. Defensively, he’s going to get better as he gets in shape.
