Gortat: Howard Basically Destroyed Me
The Suns (23-24) scored on three consecutive possessions just one time in each of the first three quarters as the Magic (30-18) built an 80-60 lead before the third quarter ended. On top of offensive frustrations, (Marcin) Gortat could not handle (Dwight) Howard’s post-up game either with his former practice opponent scoring 25 in the first three quarters,
“I probably gave him too much respect again,” Gortat said. “I should have attacked him a little bit stronger.
“He basically destroyed me and the whole team.”
Suns forward Jared Dudley said: “We didn’t frustrate him. Dwight had a smile on his face the whole time. Anytime he has a smile on his face and not getting technicals, you’re in trouble.”
