Grizzlies eyeing replacement with F Arthur out

Basketball News & NBA Rumors

Memphis Grizzlies forward Darrell Arthur will miss the season with a torn right Achilles tendon suffered during Sunday’s practice.

The loss of the 6-9 Arthur leaves the Grizzlies with little depth behind their starting front line.

The Commercial Appeal of Memphis reported that the Grizzlies are preparing an offer sheet for Charlotte Bobcats forward Dante Cunningham as a potential replacement.

Cunningham averaged a combined 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds with the Bobcats and Portland Trail Blazers last season.

Last season, Arthur averaged a career-high 9.1 points and pulled down 4.3 rebounds per game.

A first-round pick in 2008, Arthur was limited to only 32 games in 2009-10 after suffering a torn pectoral muscle.
