Grizzlies Frustrated by Recent Losing Streak
When the locker room door finally opened Wednesday night after yet another debacle, Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins emerged and proclaimed that he was at a loss for words.
His players had the same mindset, insisting that it’s time to stop talking about their foibles and fix them.
“I don’t think it’s one thing,” Griz forward Rudy Gay said. “Tired minds? I don’t know. But it can’t be.”
Memphis (24-13) dropped its third straight game — all of which have been by a margin of 20 points or more. Dallas, the Los Angeles Clippers and now the San Antonio Spurs have dealt the Griz embarrassing defeats.
“It’s frustrating,” Griz backup forward Darrell Arthur said. “It seems like we’re not playing with any effort. … The way we’re losing is unacceptable.”
