Atlanta Hawks Sign Jannero Pargo
The Atlanta Hawks have announced the signing of veteran guard Jannero Pargo to a 10-day contract according to a team press release. Pargo played in 50 games with the Hawks during the lockout-shortened 2012 campaign where he averaged 5.6 points and 1.9 assists in just over 13 minutes per game.
The signing of Pargo adds depth to the Hawks’ backcourt after news of the loss of high scoring guard Lou Williams who tore his ACL in Friday’s loss to Brooklyn. Williams will miss the remainder of the season and his status for the beginning of the 2013-14 campaign is still unclear.
The Hawks’ backcourt has become thin recently as Devin Harris and Anthony Morrow are battling injuries, while veteran guard DeShawn Stevenson has also been hampered with nagging ailments.
Pargo, who appeared in seven games with the Washington Wizards this season, will be available for the Hawks for Monday’s home clash versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.
