HEAT Need James, Wade to be Selfish?
Heat president Pat Riley said something telling on that topic Saturday at the announcement that James became the eighth player in NBA history to win three MVP awards.
Riley had mentioned how Michael Jordan had won all his MVPs and all his championships and said, “By being a team player? Nah. By being Michael Jordan.”
The Heat needs (LeBron) James and (Dwyane) Wade to be James and Wade first — to be stars, being stars — and the team will follow.
Few teams have two players who can turn it up and dominate like we saw in the second half Sunday. (The Pacers don’t have one).
“They took over,” Mario Chalmers said. “LeBron is the MVP, and Wade is not far behind.”
