The Miami Heat requested waivers on seldom-used guard Terrel Harris on Saturday. The team had a Monday deadline to decide whether to guarantee Harris’ contract for the season.

The Heat face a similar deadline with center Josh Harrellson, the only other player on the roster without a guaranteed contract.

The Heat can now bring Harris back for as many as two 10-day contracts. The 10-day contract period opens Sunday, with Harris eligible to be re-signed as soon as Monday, after he clears the 48-hour waiver period.
