Hornets End Nuggets 15-Game Winning Streak
With starting point guard Greivis Vasquez and shooting guard Eric Gordon sitting out with ankle injuries, Roberts carried the load and led the Hornets to a stunning upset 110-86 victory Monday against the Denver Nuggets that ended their franchise-tying 15-game winning streak at the New Orleans Arena. It was the Hornets’ third consecutive victory.
The Nuggets (49-22) had won 15 consecutive games to tie their franchise record set in 1969-70 by the Denver Rockets of the American Basketball Association. Denver had not lost since a Feb. 22 game against the Washington Wizards (119-113) and during the streak, they have beaten the defending Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder twice.
