New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon will miss an additional two to three weeks with a sore right knee, the team announced on Friday.

Team doctors have cited rest as the best remedy for Gordon.

The key acquisition in the trade that sent point guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers, Gordon scored 22 points in a 101-93 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old Gordon, who has already missed four games with the ailing knee, is averaging 21 points this season.
