Italy, France, Spain Advancing in Eurobasket
Group A: France has looked like one of the best teams in the tournament, with Tony Parker picking up where he left off in the NBA Finals, and they went 4-1 in group play to advance. The Ukraine also was 4-1 and got a win over Great Britain on Monday to advance.
Group B: This was the tightest of the groups — host Serbia, Latvia and Lithuania all move on with 3-2 records, while Bosnia and Herzegovina were 3-2 as well but miss out advancing based on a point differential tie breaker.
Group C: Spain is another one of the best teams in the tournament (led by Ricky Rubio, Marc Gasol and a host of other names you know) and was 4-1 to easily advance. Croatia was 4-1 but Slovenia had to beat the Czech Republic to advance.
Group D: Italy advances as the lone undefeated team through the first group stage as the Marco Belinelli led side is scoring seemingly at will. Finland has been one of the surprises of the tournament but they advance at 4-1 thanks to a strong defense, and Greece moves on at 3-2.
