Jackson Happy to Return to Spurs Lineup
Having grown restless during his three-plus weeks on the injured list, Spurs forward Stephen Jackson received an early Christmas gift Monday in the form of his coach’s blessing to finally get back on the court.
With his return came the unenviable assignment of chasing three-time NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant around Chesapeake Arena for much of Oklahoma City’s 107-93 victory.
“That’s how I want to come back,” said Jackson, 34, who missed 14 games with a fractured right pinky finger. “I want to come back and play against the best.”
For Jackson, the comeback party was bittersweet.
Playing with his still-fractured pinky taped to his ring finger, Jackson logged 19 minutes, went 2-for-4 and helped limit Durant to 19 points, his third-lowest output of the season.
