Japeth Aguilar Could Be First Filipino in NBA
The 25-year old Aguilar is a former Philippine Basketball Association No. 1 draft pick and has been working out for some D-League teams this summer but his goal is to make it into the NBA.
He is 6-9, 225 lbs., and played at Western Kentucky University for two seasons before leaving in 2009. Since then, he has been playing in the Philippine Basketball Association.
As mentioned, he has been working out for several D-League teams and so far, the criticism hasn’t been completely positive.
But for Japeth, he wants to become the first Filipino to make it into the NBA.
“It was going to be now or never,” Aguilar said. “If it’s not for me, then at least I tried. I don’t want to have any regrets, so I just want to try.”
