Jason Terry hopes Mavericks retire his jersey

So it was a tough move for the 34-year-old Terry when he signed a $15 million three-year deal with the Boston Celtics in July.
“What we did in my eight-year career here in Dallas, I’ll never forget it,” Terry said to the Star-Ledger. “I grew not only as a basketball player, but as a person, as a father.”
It was certainly a mutually beneficial relationship, considering Terry played significant minutes in the Mavericks’ 2011 title run. But are Terry’s contributions merit his jersey getting retired?
“The bow was winning the championship, but the icing on the cake will be putting that jersey up in the rafters,” Terry said. “If it happens, I’ll be grateful.”
Terry averaged 15.1 points per game during the Mavericks’ championship season in 2010-11, adding 4.1 assists per game. Is that type of production jersey-retiring worthy?
