Utah Jazz fish for help via trade pool

The Utah Jazz will have a different look for the 2012-13 season, but the organization hasn’t really fished from the free agency pool yet this summer to shape its roster.
Rather, the Jazz’s two biggest offseason acquisitions came via trades.
On Wednesday, the team finalized a swap with the Hawks, sending starting point guard Devin Harris to Atlanta in exchange for small forward Marvin Williams.
The trade follows a four-team deal in late June when the Jazz reacquired one of their former players, point guard Mo Williams.
Those two moves arguably make the Jazz a stronger squad, seeing as Mo Williams deemed to be at least on the same level as Harris while Marvin Williams is an upgrade from Josh Howard and C.J. Miles on the wing.
The Jazz did pick up — or keep, rather — one free agent this summer. Restricted free agent forward Jeremy Evans, the reigning NBA Slam Dunk champion, was signed to a three-year deal.
On the other hand, Utah is reportedly on the verge of buying out the contract of disgruntled veteran guard Raja Bell, who found himself at odds with coach Tyrone Corbin on multiple occasions in the past two seasons.
“I think we’ve gotten better,” Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor said.
