The New Jersey Nets have acquired All-Star center Mehmet Okur from the New Jersey Nets in exchange for a second-round pick.

The move comes on the heels of the Nets learning that center Brook Lopez will be sidelined until at least February because of surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right foot.

Okur was limited to just 13 games last season because of a hip injury. He has averaged 13.7 points and 7.1 rebounds for his career.

The Jazz are deep in the frontcourt with Al Jefferson starting at center and having drafted big man Enes Kanter with the No. 3 pick in the NBA draft.
