Jennings: Small Backcourt can Work

(Brandon) Jennings and (Monta) Ellis had limited time to prove they could flourish together last season, after the 6-foot-3 Ellis was acquired in the March 14 trade that sent center Andrew Bogut to the Golden State Warriors.
The immediate payoff of a playoff berth was not realized as the Bucks faded in the final weeks and could not catch the New York Knicks or Philadelphia 76ers.
But there were some encouraging signs, including a 12-9 record with Ellis and Jennings in the same starting lineup. Ellis averaged 17.6 points, 5.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 21 games after joining the Bucks.
“We actually went through stretches where it could (work), but with the lockout and short season, we only got him with about a month left,” Jennings said. “Now you’ve got to deal with me and Monta for a full 82 games; it should be interesting.”
