Johnson uses bracelet to remember name
by Adi Joseph, USA TODAY Sports
Joe Johnson takes enough shots that fans of his former team, the Atlanta Hawks, would joke he thought he was the only one on the floor at time. But the Brooklyn Nets guard took self-involved to another level with this one: a bracelet with his own name.
We don’t want to get on his case too much, though. I mean, there are plenty of plausible explanations for the bracelet, which he wore during Thursday’s 92-90 loss to the Chicago Bulls:
He has amnesia and doesn’t want to forget his name.
He just left the hospital, in which case he’s showing great strength playing an NBA game.
He has a son also named Joe Johnson, though that in itself might be self-involved.
The bracelet refers to a different Joe Johnson, perhaps the 1986 world champion snooker player.
Whatever the case, this would be a pretty hilarious NBA fashion trend, should it join lens-less eyeglasses and backpacks.
H/T @CJZero for pointing this out
