Wall gives Falk death stare after big shot
by Chris Chase, USA TODAY Sports
John Wall hit a go-ahead shot on Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers, then appeared to stare down super agent David Falk, a move which continued an ongoing beef between the two men and made a juvenile story even more sophomoric.
Last month, Falk, the longtime agent for Michael Jordan and current representative of a number of NBA players, did an interview with The Washington Post in which he ripped Wall and the Wizards.
“You guys are in dreamland. Because this team [stinks] so bad you guys want John Wallto be someone he will never be”
[...] Who’s bigger, Kyrie Irving or John Wall? John Wall. Who’s a better athlete? John Wall. Who’s faster? Who’s stronger? John Wall.”Now, who’s a better player? Kyrie Irving. John Wall will never be good as Kyrie Irving was in his first week in the NBA.”
This earned reaction from Wall’s defenders, leading to a non-apology apology from Falk.
That was around Valentine’s Day. All seemed forgotten until Falk was sitting courtside on Sunday night and Wall his the shot.
Multiple reports say Wall drained the bucket in front of Falk. Video shows Wall giving giving the stink eye to someone in the crowd after the shot. It’s been inferred that Falk was the recipient of the visual daggers.
As far as burns go, this one was minor, like when you hold a match for a split-second too long. Because whether or not Falk is right about John Wall, hitting a go-ahead shot in a game between two sub-.500 teams that are a combined 16 games out of the playoff race doesn’t prove anything, other than that John Wall holds grudges.
At least he’s like MJ is one way; right, David?
