Manziel tweets support to Henderson

Throughout the past week of Marshall Henderson mania, many major sports figures — from LeBron James to Charles Barkley — have weighed in with their thoughts on the brash Ole Miss star.

One name that was conspicuously absent from the Henderson discussion was his college football doppelgänger, Johnny Manziel. The Heisman Trophy winner isn’t shy about sharing his opinions, so surely he had something to say about Mr. Henderson.

The two are like kindred spirits — fiery Texans with checkered pasts, meteoric rises to prominence, similar swagger, passionate supporters, equally-passionate detractors, and a controversial social media presence that probably makes their coaches pine for the days of dial-up.

Thankfully, Manziel broke his silence Saturday, tweeting a show of support for Henderson before Sunday’s round of 32 game.

All is well in the world of self-assertive college sports stars.
