Judge dismisses lawsuit against Iverson
A federal judge in Detroit dismissed a $2.5 million lawsuit against former NBA guard Allen Iverson in connection with a 2009 bar fight.
U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds said there was no evidence that Iverson or the player’s bodyguard punched the Ohio man who filed the suit.
An attorney for Iverson said his client feels “very gratified and very vindicated.”
A lawyer for Guy Walker said he would appeal the decision. Walker alleged he was assaulted by one of Iverson’s bodyguards at a Detroit nightclub.
One of Iverson’s bodyguards at the time of the incident was Ralph Godbee, who is now the police chief in Detroit.
