Faried shows ‘Manimal’ style with blocks

Kenneth Faried has the nickname, the hair, the athleticism and the statistics.

He’s assembling the highlight reel with every game.

The Denver Nuggets forward who plays like a hybrid of Dennis Rodman and Paul Millsap only averages 0.9 blocks a game.He is 6-8, undersized for a power forward.

You thought that would stop him? Ask the Golden State Warriors, whose shots he blocked five times Thursday night in a 106-105 Warriors win.

Here, the “Manimal” chases down Warriors rookie Harrison Barnes on a fast-break layup attempt:

Other than the five blocks, Faried surprisngly stayed quiet, which is to say he wasn’t quiet because those five blocks were huge. He finished with only 10 points and seven rebounds, down from his 13.5 and 11.3 a game averages.

But he did have a huge box out that forced Warriors rookie Draymond Green to knock a ball out of bounds on a missed Nuggets free throw, giving them 2.1 seconds for an inbounds play that the Nuggets botched twice.

But those blocks, man. Or, Manimal.
