Kevin Martin Receives Flopping Warning
Kevin Martin on Friday received a warning for flopping, the NBA announced.
Martin became the third NBA player to be cited by the league for flopping and the first Thunder player to be found in violation of the new rules.
The violation occurred with 10:16 remaining in the Thunder’s Nov. 12 win at Detroit. Video evidence shows Martin falling to the court despite little to no contact as he launched a 3-point attempt with Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko closing out at him.
Under new rules, a player will be fined $5,000 on his second violation, $10,000 on his third, $15,000 on his fourth and $30,000 on his fifth flopping violation.
