Kidd: Jason Terry Deserves Multi-year Deal

While guard Jason Terry said numerous times this season that he wants at least a three-year deal when he becomes a free agent next month, guard Jason Kidd said a one-year contract would suffice for himself.

“Jason is in a different situation than I am,” Kidd said Monday. “He’s a little bit younger — not much — but he’s younger.

“And so it’ll be fair for him to get more than a one-year deal.”

Kidd believes if he returns a sign a one-year deal with the Mavs it would help owner Mark Cuban pursue other top-nothced free agents like Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams.
