Knicks’ Shumpert Cleared for Practice
Iman Shumpert has been cleared for non-contact workouts and told Marc Berman of the New York Post that he will work with the team in conditioning drills this week.
This is a major first step in his long-awaited season debut. Shumpert underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee on May 2. So he is days away from the extreme end of the 6-to-8 month recovery period.
Shumpert is still likely another week to two weeks away from being cleared for full contact practice. But the exciting young player and defensive specialist is definitely on the horizon.
