Kobe Wanted Payback on Westbrook
Kobe Bryant said after Oklahoma City won on the Lakers’ floor on March 29 that he looked forward to guarding Russell Westbrook more next time.
Westbrook had posted 36 points on 13-of-27 shooting from the field against the Lakers and their new point guard Ramon Sessions, although Lakers coach Mike Brown viewed containing Westbrook as more a team challenge of making the paint look crowded for Westbrook as he approaches it.
Brown planned to go with Sessions on Westbrook again Sunday.
“Kobe said, ‘No, I want him. I want to guard him,’ ” Brown said.
Said Bryant after the game: “He cooked us the last time he was here, so I figured if he was going to cook us, I wanted him to cook me.”
