Lakers Not Using $3M Exception?

The Los Angeles Lakers still have the $3.09 million taxpayer mid-level exception to sign free agents, however they are loath to use it for the 2012-13 season.

“We look to add value. We have a mini mid-level still available but I think it’s unlikely we’d use it unless there’s an incredible value out there,” general manager Mitch Kupchak told Lakers.com.

The Lakers currently have 12 players under contract for the upcoming season and their tax bill is already at $23.3 million.

The Lakers will probably not have a full 15-man roster during the 2012-13 season and they may just carry the minimum of 13.
