James, Wade won’t play vs. San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO — LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers aren’t playing Sunday night for the Miami Heat vs. the San Antonio Spurs.
Immediately, speculation was rampant that the Heat were retaliating for the Nov. 29 game in which Spurs coach Gregg Popovich sent Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili home and the Spurs eventually incurred a $250,000 fine from the NBA for doing so.
“I could see where you guys would draw those conclusions, but no,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said before tipoff.
He went on to say that James injured the hamstring against the New Orleans Hornets on Friday and sat out the fourth quarter. Chalmers’ issue is an ankle and Wade has had a sore knee for a couple weeks.
“We’re a deep team for a reason,” Spoelstra said. “We’re prepared for this.”
