LeBron asks about NFL free agent deadline

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James caused a stir on Tuesday when he tweeted a question to ESPN’s John Clayton.

“When is the deadline for (an NFL) team to sign a free agent?” the self-professed King posted.

While many began to speculate how the 6-foot-8, 260-plus pound James would fare in the NFL, the question was essentially a statement on the NBA’s ongoing lockout.

The NBA canceled the first two weeks of the regular season on Monday.

The move came following the latest round of failed negotiations between owners and the players’ union. It marks the league’s first work stoppage since 1998-99 when the schedule was reduced to 50 games.
