Linsanity to take back seat in Knicks offense
Linsanity could be making its final run on Broadway.
Interim New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson said the focus of the team’s offense will switch back to star forwards Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire.
Woodson’s remarks came one day after head coach Mike D’Antoni resigned in the wake of a six-game losing streak.
The Knicks had won seven straight with Lin running the point, but the team stumbled to a 2-8 mark when Anthony returned to the lineup prior to Wednesday’s 42-point drubbing of Portland.
Woodson set Lin is in the “learning stage,” prompting speculation that he could wind up back on the bench behind veterans Baron Davis and Mike Bibby.
“He’s going to utilize his leading scorers, myself and Carmelo Anthony, make sure he takes advantage of every opportunity on the court,” Stoudemire said. “We’ve been profound scorers all our careers. He wants to make sure we take advantage of that.”
