We know this about Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban: He isn’t one to mince words.

Before the Mavericks’ season-opening victory over the Los Angeles Lakers last week, Cuban kept it real when he said, “I hope they suck.”

Well, through five games this season, Cuban pretty much has gotten what he hoped for, which resulted in the Lakers firing coach Mike Brown on Friday after a 1-4 start. And you just know Cuban relishes in their misery.

“That’s a quick trigger,” Cuban said during a media session at Madison Square Garden, via ESPN.com. “That is a quick trigger. But, hey, it’s the same thought I have all the time. I hope they have to do it again this season. A couple times. Five times, maybe.”

Cuban didn’t end their, either. He made it clear he’d never hit the panic button the way the Lakers have after just five games.

“Don’t you hate when that happens?” Cuban said. “Nothing surprises me. Every team is different. Every team has its own approach. I just hope it was a huge mistake, and they continue to make them.”
