Dallas Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd will be sidelined for at least one game with a lower back injury.

Kidd was hurt in Thursday night’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs. He has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the New Orleans Hornets.

“As of right now, he’s going to be out tomorrow and we’ll go from there,” coach Rick Carlisle said.

Kidd is averaging 4.9 points, 4.5 assists and 3.8 rebounds for the Mavericks, who fell to 3-5 with Thursday’s loss.

The 38-year-old Kidd has missed only 11 games over the previous six seasons.
