Mavs Miss Jason Terry’s Offense?

Basketball News & NBA Rumors

Jason Terry wearing green Friday night offered a stark reminder of what he took from Dallas to Boston.

His swagger. Who can forget his smack talk during the championship run in 2011 when he called out LeBron James? It was no coincidence that Terry wore his NBA championship ring to AAC Friday night — although he probably wasn’t flashing it on the way out of the building following a 104-94 Mavericks’ victory over his Boston Celtics.

His energy. The entire building would get a lift when Terry trotted onto the court as the Mavericks’ sixth man — a role he filled so well in 2009 that the NBA honored him as its sixth man of the year.

His charisma. Terry was greeted with a standing ovation when he entered the
game Friday night. He said he expects his jersey number 31 to one day be hanging from the rafters at AAC — and there’s no argument coming from the Mavericks.

The Mavericks miss all that from Terry. Plus his experience, smile and a big chunk of his heart. But what his old team doesn’t miss is his offense.
