Meet the biggest troll(s) at the tournament

DAYTON, Ohio — When it comes to chants aimed at NCAA Tournament opponents and officials, the Iowa State pep band is Final Four quality.
Among the incantations that players trying to shoot free throws are going to hear from the trombone and tuba section:
“The hoop is smaller than the ball.”
“You’re shooting for a date to the prom.”
“You’re shooting a greasy bowling ball.”
“Your number’s a palindrome.”
“There is no hoop.”
The effectiveness is uncertain. One of the few things Notre Dame did well against Friday against Iowa State was make 10 of 13 free throw attempts. But it’s entertaining, anyway.
An offending referee will not get the garden variety boo, but rather a a chant that sounds like a ringing bell:
“Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.”
