Metta World Peace challenges MJ

Basketball News & NBA Rumors

Michael Jordan might be the most unpopular NBA owner among active players because of his strident anti-union stance during the lockout.

But MJ can still play a little basketball — even at 48.

That’s why Metta World Peace (the player formerly known as Ron Artest) might have temporarily taken leave of his senses when he challenged “His Airness” to a game of one-on-one to settle the lockout.

Artest proposes that if he wins, the lockout would be over. And if Jordan wins, the owners could keep it going.

We would hope that World Peace is joking, at least considering Jordan’s legendary tenaciousness. And he’s tempting fate even further when he says he would spot Jordan 20 points.

“Come on Jordan!! Bring it. One on one. I win lockout over,” World Peace tweeted. “I’ll beat u with my eyes closed and a in and out burger in my right hand!!”
