World Peace rubs Lee’s head in confrontation
by Sean Highkin, USA TODAY Sports
Grown men do not typically take well to having their heads rubbed, as Metta World Peace discovered on Monday after attempting to upstage David Lee during the Lakers’ matchup with the Warriors. With the Lakers trailing by almost 20 points halfway through the second quarter, the two exchanged words after jostling for a loose ball and World Peace made the mistake of rubbing Lee’s head like a small child who didn’t know he’d done something bad.
Neither of these players, obviously, are strangers to getting into it during games. Lee was suspended last month for his involvement in a skirmish with Roy Hibbert and other Pacers players, while World Peace is one of the most notoriously physical players in the league.
The matchup between the Lakers and Warriors was bound to be even more contentious because they’re fighting for playoff seeding position in the bottom half of the Western Conference. The Lakers are holding onto the eighth seed by a game and a half, while the Warriors are jockeying to hang onto the sixth seed. In this case, both teams’ frustrations came out in a hilarious fashion.
