Miami (OH) coach Coles retiring

Miami of Ohio coach Charlie Coles announced that he plans on retiring after 16 seasons at the school.

Coles declared his intention to step away following his team’s 60-53 loss to Toledo in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament on Monday.

Miami finished the season 9-21 and 5-11 in conference play.

Coles went 263-224 at Miami and owns the most wins in program history. He is 355-308 for his career, including a stint at Central Michigan.
