The stars were aligned for Michael Jordan to join the USA’s pursuit of a Ryder Cup title.
The event will be played at Medina Country Club outside of Chicago. That’s a city that Jordan knows something about starring in.
The Ryder Cup captain is Davis Love III who was a star at the University of Carolina in the 1980s. Something else Jordan knows a little something about.
Love named Jordan as an adviser and looks forward to the Hall of Famer hanging around like he did when he was an assistant captain for Fred Couples at the 2009 Presidents Cup.
Couples is an assistant to Love at the Ryder Cup.
“…One of the neatest things I ever saw in the Ryder Cup was Michael riding in a golf cart with Tom Kite,” said Love. “He came out to watch Freddie and I play, and I thought that was one of the coolest things. I want my team, like Fred and I did, to get to see Michael. Rather than him sneaking around in the gallery, I want him to be seen and I want him to be in our team room, be hanging around and be a great influence.”
