USA TODAY Sports reported that Lakers coach Mike Brown was fired on Friday after starting the season 1-4, and thanks to the wonderful world of social media, we caught the initial reactions to the news from some prominent names.

Hall of Famer and Laker great Magic Johnson’s thoughts stood out the most.

“Feel bad for Coach Mike Brown, who’s a great guy, but don’t think he was the right guy for the job in the first place,” he tweeted.

“I’d love to see Phil Jackson or Brian Shaw. Wish Pat Riley was available.”

And of course, former Lakers center Shaquille O’Neal chimed in. His thoughts and insight were not as interesting.

“Did mike brown really get fired. Geeeeez. Dammmmmmmmm Wow Bring on Brian shaw,” Shaq tweeted.
